I have been blogging for a while now, and I guess I am not the greatest blogger out there, as a matter of a fact I know I am not the greatest. I was just reading some info from one of the most brilliant bloggers I know of, and well I got some inspiration. I was reading a blog of hers (Lorelle) about WordPress Themes, and how each year bloggers strip their blogs of css to honor Theme Designers. This of course is an awesome way of letting designers know that we appreciate their work, but when are we going to start letting them know what they can do differently? I mean I don’t design WordPress themes myself, but I have a lot of ideas as to how I would like my BLOGS to look.

What I have decided to make as my first post on WordPress.com is just this. What would you like to see from Theme designers in the next year? How can designers make you happy?

Thinking on this question, I have a few ideas of my own, as I already mentioned, so here we go. I personally would like to see something NEW! All of the themes I have ever seen are pretty much the same. I mean different colors, or logos, and what not, but same ole, same ole layout. Lets try thinking truly outside of the box. Most layouts are logo bar, navigation bar, content, sidebar, footer. Maybe we could try logo bar, navigation bar, sidebar, content, footer. Instead of the sidebar being vertical, make it horizontal, and stationary. How about maybe a floating frame for the content, so that only the content area scrolls. I don’t know I am no Theme designer, and I don’t know full scale of limitations, but it seems to me like, if it can be done in html, and php, then we should be able to do it in WordPress.
